The concept of this rooftop reminded me a lot of San Francisco and really enjoyed the vibe! There was a DJ playing some great remixes and hits. The rooftop was beautiful and the weather was perfect when we visited! Now the biggest downfall was the service. It was like pulling teeth to get the attention of the waiting staff. Our order got mixed up a few times and we waited FOREVER to be seated ( waited for a host...without a wait time...multiple tables were available), waited for a waiter to give us a menu, water and take our order, waited for a staff member to take our reorders, and finally waited the longest for a staff member to provide our bill. Other than the immense waiting, we did enjoy our experience here!

So this is found at the top of John Lewis. Go past the inside boring cafe, past the toilets to the Willow entrance. Booking is advised during busy times.. You can have a pod outside, or a cosy shed, eat outside, or inside the restaurant. The views arnt amazing, because the sides are all built up with trees and edging as such. However.... the whole atmosphere is done very well, and feels really nice with ambient lighting and funky trees. You can still see the sunshine, or sunset. Food was served very quickly, and the burgers were tasty. I cannot fault this restaurant, I think its a great place for both food or simply drinks. I fully recommend it and the atmosphere was spot on, even during the daytime. I shall return !!!

What a stunning rooftop! Especially on a sunny day though it's charming at night too Almost doesn't feel like the hustly bustly centre of London! Lots of different areas, great for groups. The Benugo team is very professional and attentive... At the moment there is a Martin Miller's Gin takeover whereby you can enjoy its botanicals around and 3 delicious and Instagrammeable Bramble cocktails

This place is stunning and a nice escape from Oxford street! Really nice vibe. The host was so accommodating when the numbers of my booking had changed drastically upon arrival. Drinks were nice. We ordered churros which were okay. I would come here again!

1864 Rooftop Bar & Kitchen – A Hidden Gem Above Oxford Street I stumbled upon 1864 Rooftop Bar and Kitchen almost by accident, and what a happy accident it turned out to be. Tucked away on top of John Lewis, right in the middle of Oxford Street’s chaos, this place is like a secret escape from the hustle below. The second you step out onto the rooftop, you’re hit with this incredible view of London—modern, buzzing, but somehow still peaceful. There’s something effortlessly cool about this place. The mix of open sky (thanks to the retractable roof) and moody evening lighting gives it a laid-back but stylish feel. It’s the kind of spot where you could show up in jeans and still feel like you’re somewhere special. I went just as the sun was starting to set, and watching the sky change colors over the city with a drink in hand? Absolute magic. I wasn’t expecting the food to be as good as it was—sometimes rooftop bars lean too hard on the view and forget about the menu, but not here. We ordered a few small plates to share, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and actually felt worth the price (which, let’s be real, isn’t always the case in central London). But the real star? The mocktails. My friends are picky about drinks, and these didn’t disappoint. They’ve got all the classics, but their signature mixes are where they really shine. I don’t drink, and even I was raving about the mocktails—they clearly put as much thought into those as the boozy options. What really stood out was how **warm and attentive** the staff were. No rushed orders, no disappearing acts—just really nice people who seemed to genuinely enjoy working there. Our server even recommended a cocktail based on what flavors I usually like, and it was spot on. Little touches like that make a difference. 1864 is one of those rare places that gets everything right. Amazing views without being pretentious, great drinks without the gimmicks, and food that’s actually worth ordering. Whether you’re a local looking for a new go-to or a visitor wanting a break from Oxford Street’s madness, this rooftop is a no-brainer. I’ll definitely be back and bringing friends next time.

Very impressed with John Lewis’s rooftop bar. A lessor mortal than that of Selfridge’s. However, this is reflected in lower prices but quality is superb! Service too. Well done John Lewis & Partners! Valuable space being used wisely as temperatures warm.

This is a dreamly beautiful place for socialising and relaxation. The winter evening with the lights was so romantic. The automosphere felt like being in a fairytale. We had food somewhere else and came up for a pudding and drinks, so we cannot comment on the food. I suspect the night view is better than during the day. It's one of the must go places in London.

My partner and I visited John Lewis and found this little gem up on the roof. I've never experienced such friendly service before! Guided on our way up and back down with friendly faces and all smiles, the team were absolutely fantastic, we were checked on multiple times and served super fresh drinks that tasted amazing, thankyou to the staff, you truly were amazing and we can't wait to return soon!
